Advisory Principal Data Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Data Expert with deep expertise in Azure and data governance for an advisory role. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data management, a strong understanding of Python, and over 18 years of hands-on experience in the field. This role requires a visionary leader who can provide strategic guidance on data strategy, ensure data quality, and optimize our data infrastructure to support our business objectives.

Strategic Advisory

• Provide expert guidance on the development and implementation of comprehensive data governance frameworks and policies.
• Advise on compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Offer strategic insights on data stewardship and data quality initiatives.

Azure Data Solutions Advisory

• Advise on the design, deployment, and management of data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Provide recommendations to optimize Azure data services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of cloud data infrastructure through expert advice.

Data Management and Analysis Guidance

• Offer strategic advice on the design and implementation of data warehouses, datalakes, and data marts.
• Provide expertise in utilizing Python for data analysis, automation, and development of data-centric applications.
• Guide advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science initiatives.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Provide strategic mentorship and guidance to the data team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions with business processes.
• Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and senior management.

Innovation and Best Practices

• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data management and cloud computing to provide informed advice.
• Promote the adoption of best practices in data architecture, data engineering, and data governance.
• Lead initiatives to continuously improve data management processes and technologies through strategic insights.

Others Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Over 18 years of experience in data management, data architecture, and data governance.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure data services and cloud infrastructure, including:
• Azure SQL Database: Design, deployment, optimization, and management.
• Azure Data Factory: Data integration, ETL processes, and pipeline management.
• Azure Databricks: Big data processing, advanced analytics, and collaboration.
• Azure Synapse Analytics: Data warehousing, real-time analytics, and integrated analytics services.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and application development, including Data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy), Data visualization libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn), Machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), Automation scripting and orchestration.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, including data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage tracking.
• Data quality assessment, monitoring, and improvement.
• Policy development for data security, privacy, and compliance.
• Strong understanding of data privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
• Proven track record of providing strategic guidance on large-scale data projects.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and advisory skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights, present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, and mentor and guide technical teams to achieve strategic goals.
