Accelerating Scientific Computing in Cloud with AWS RES for Interactive and HPC workloads
AWS Research and Engineering Studio (RES) is an AWS-managed solution designed to provide researchers, scientists, and engineers with secure, on-demand virtual desktops and collaborative environments for high-performance computing (HPC) and data-intensive workloads.
In this video, you will discover:
Use Cases
- Engineering Simulations: Run compute-intensive simulations like fluid dynamics, structural analysis, and electronic design with scalable HPC resources.
- Research Computing & Data Science: Provide researchers with ready-to-use environments for data analysis, machine learning, and scientific computing.
- Interactive Workloads & Visualization: Enable 3D modeling, visualization, and GPU-accelerated rendering through high-performance cloud desktops..
- Secure & Compliant Research Environments: Host sensitive workloads (e.g., pharma, genomics, healthcare) in private subnets with compliance to HIPAA, NIST, and other data protection frameworks.
Researchers can launch interactive desktops on demand with their scientific tools pre-installed. Here, we run an Ansys simulation directly in the cloud, with GPU acceleration and full visualization over DCV.
For large-scale workloads, users can seamlessly submit jobs to PCS. Here, an OpenFOAM CFD simulation runs on an HPC cluster. Once complete, results are viewed interactively on a visualization desktop.
